Bracebridge Arts Council

The Bracebridge Arts Council, a not-for-profit community organization, promotes enjoyment of the performing arts in Muskoka while stimulating the pursuit of excellence in theatrical education. Founded in 1988, the BAC became an Ontario Corporation in 1990 and was approved as a registered Canadian charity in 2005 by the Canada Revenue Agency.

Mission

The BAC aims to nurture, stimulate and enhance the enjoyment and understanding of the arts while encouraging the pursuit of excellence in performance, craftmanship and design.

Responsibility

The BAC oversees operation of the Rene M. Caisse Memorial Theatre which opened in 2007 as a first class, state-of-the-art performing arts facility. The Theatre is located within a modern complex that also houses Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School and the Bracebridge Sports and Recreation Centre.

Management

Daily operations of the Rene M. Caisse Memorial Theatre are fulfilled by three full-time employees who report to the BAC:

  • Amy Bridle, Artistic Director
  • Tara Bartok, Marketing and Box Office Manager
  • Jordan Routliff, Technical Director (FedNor Grant until April 2011)

The Bracebridge Arts Council is currently seeking members for its Board of Directors. Ideal candidates are community-minded individuals interested in advancing the BAC’s mission and enhancing the operation of the Rene M. Caisse Memorial Theatre. Specific skills and experience that could bring value include (but are not limited to):
